My story...

I left Vancouver on April 4 2010 to live one year abroad. I arrived in London- spent a week with my cousins, headed over to Ireland to see some more cousins and tour the country, back to London for a day- and arrived in Paris on April 28th, 2010. I found an apartment and started working on May 10th. From May 2010 until February 2011 I lived the Parisian life and took advantage of living in the epicenter of the world by traveling and exploring numerous nearby countries such as: Algeria, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the south of France, Belgium, Morocco, and South Africa.
This blog takes you into the wonderful adventures of my life with stories and pictures galore.
I was due back to Vancouver on April 1, 2011- where I took my position back after my one year leave. I flew back to Vancouver on March 27, 2011. It has been good to be back- I am so blessed as I am surrounded by such great people!!! So good to see friends and family again after 1 year!
Just because I'm back in Vancouver to what was my "normal" life... doesn't mean the adventures and blogging stop here. The adventures will continue I'm sure... so
the only way to stay informed with my random experiences is to come back to this page! So add it to your favourites.

Vasco and Nunez are tourists in London for the day

So...Vasco, Nunez and I set out for a little bit of a tourist adventure today. First we got on the tube, transferred from the Piccadilly Line to the District Line at Acton Town, and we eventually found ourselves at Victoria Station.
We enjoyed the beautiful gardens...

Taken aback by the beautiful statue of Queen Victoria which is located in front of Buckingham Palace.

Vasco was delighted to be able to say he was so close to visiting the Royal Family.

Off we went, up the street where we found the infamous 'Big Ben'... Well...close enough! What is “Big Ben”? Most people have an impression that it’s the name of the world famous clock, or perhaps the tower that houses it. Not true! The name actually refers to the 13 ton bell, while the tower is known as St. Stephen’s Tower.

Also, my friend Kevin recommended that I visit the Imperial War Museum...and I am so glad that I did!

They had an amazing Holocaust Exhibit and one that hit a little closer to my interest of study... Crimes against humanity. They showed a powerful 30 minute film about Genocide... Makes me want to read so much more on the subject... So I'll be buying a few more books to start building up my knowledge on the subject. Also an area of study which I wouldn't mind pursuing! This was probably another ITC moment...one because I wasn't allowed video taping the movie and two because of how moving the movie really was and how it made me feel after.
One of the speakers in the film was Canada's own...Michael Ignatieff (the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada)!!!!! How exciting!!! He has done such amazing work in his life...such an inspirational political figure!!!
