My story...

I left Vancouver on April 4 2010 to live one year abroad. I arrived in London- spent a week with my cousins, headed over to Ireland to see some more cousins and tour the country, back to London for a day- and arrived in Paris on April 28th, 2010. I found an apartment and started working on May 10th. From May 2010 until February 2011 I lived the Parisian life and took advantage of living in the epicenter of the world by traveling and exploring numerous nearby countries such as: Algeria, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the south of France, Belgium, Morocco, and South Africa.
This blog takes you into the wonderful adventures of my life with stories and pictures galore.
I was due back to Vancouver on April 1, 2011- where I took my position back after my one year leave. I flew back to Vancouver on March 27, 2011. It has been good to be back- I am so blessed as I am surrounded by such great people!!! So good to see friends and family again after 1 year!
Just because I'm back in Vancouver to what was my "normal" life... doesn't mean the adventures and blogging stop here. The adventures will continue I'm sure... so
the only way to stay informed with my random experiences is to come back to this page! So add it to your favourites.

London- The Inability to Capture

So I really love taking photos, recording audio and video files in order to share my experiences with other people such as yourself, but one thing I cannot capture is the sense of touch, the sense of taste, nor the sense of smell... and sometimes... I realllyyyyyy wish I could!!!!

For example.... yesterday I spent the day walking through London, getting lost and such, walking down random little streets and every once in a while I got this brief wiff of garbage... so random. I guess this is common in big cities, but visualize this...you're walking along; people watching, checking out fancy hats in store windows, looking at your map book, and then BAM... the next thing you know you've walked into a big green cloud of stench, it slaps you across the face, you shake it off, look back, and the smell is gone. This is what it is like here in London...all part of the adventure...

Another thing I couldn't capture with the camera was the way my skin felt (and didn't want to capture the way my hair looked) after walking around all day. The air quality is so poor that I could almost peel off the layer of filth off my skin. I sound so pessimistic right now... These are just the 2 examples I came up with yesterday... don't get me wrong, I am loving London, and love it even more for these traits it has...it represents the city to its finest, and that's what I love :)

So from now on, when there is something I would have loved to have captured, but couldn't because it's a scent, a taste, a feeling, I didn't have my camera on me, or the camera wouldn't have been able to capture it anyways... I will do my best to fill you in... and we will call it an ITC.
