My story...

I left Vancouver on April 4 2010 to live one year abroad. I arrived in London- spent a week with my cousins, headed over to Ireland to see some more cousins and tour the country, back to London for a day- and arrived in Paris on April 28th, 2010. I found an apartment and started working on May 10th. From May 2010 until February 2011 I lived the Parisian life and took advantage of living in the epicenter of the world by traveling and exploring numerous nearby countries such as: Algeria, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the south of France, Belgium, Morocco, and South Africa.
This blog takes you into the wonderful adventures of my life with stories and pictures galore.
I was due back to Vancouver on April 1, 2011- where I took my position back after my one year leave. I flew back to Vancouver on March 27, 2011. It has been good to be back- I am so blessed as I am surrounded by such great people!!! So good to see friends and family again after 1 year!
Just because I'm back in Vancouver to what was my "normal" life... doesn't mean the adventures and blogging stop here. The adventures will continue I'm sure... so
the only way to stay informed with my random experiences is to come back to this page! So add it to your favourites.

Lil Miss doesn't get more Swiss than this...

I have to tell you now that you absolutely not believe that we accomplished to fit in all of these Swiss experiences in one day... I don't know how we did it... but it was amazing. Thank you to Ruth and her family for providing me with an incredible experience in a 'much too short' weekend....

We woke up in the morning to catch the 10am boat on the late... a beautiful ride admiring the neighboring mountains...
Enjoying the ride with the cuzzies...

We got off at one of the stops and jumped into a cable car which took us up the mountain!!!! It can be hiked too...but we decided to save time and energy and that we'll take the hike down instead...

Noah sitting in the driver's seat... in his dreams!
At the top of the mountain we found ourselves amongst Swiss Lodges

And of course....Ruth and her sister just happen to know the owners of one...
So we sat inside....

Chatted with the owners....
Noah and Nadia gave me a tour as the restaurant wasn't open yet....

My personal tour guides..... hehe
The view from the window... stunnninngggg
A Swiss Alp horn...
Gorgeous!!!!

A Swiss cow bell...
Family love :)
After my little tour it was back inside for lunch... Noah and Trixie ordered escargots... I can officially say I have eaten one... the loads of garlic and butter helped mask the thought of it... it was 2-3 bites, swallow, and gone. But I did it... I passed on the second offer.

Our DIVINE lunch... a wooden bowl of fresh pasta in a cheese sauce with fried onions on top and apple sauce to add to it... YUMMMMM
Dig in!
Off we went to explore the mountain...
Typical Swiss house!
Noah beside his favorite car!!!
As we're strolling along we randomly end up taking a tour in a healing center! The Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Seelisberg (Uri) !

Kept walking along... and made it to a beautiful lake!!!
Ruth and Trixie on a boat....
while Nadia and I are on the paddle boat with Noah dragging along....
MMmmmmm... Swiss Chocolate....

Kept hiking along and found this random woman's house who sells neat artwork!!!

Look at her view!!!!

Beautiful!!!The cutest little chapel...

Lovely

After exploring this beautiful house, we kept walking...finding miniiii little frogs everywhere!!!!
Nadia's matching nails!!!
The hike continued into the forest down over 1000 stairs...how many did we count again Nadia?!?!
A random pipe with fresh water and a metal cup attached to a string in the middle of the forest....
Noah filling it up for me....
Me testing it.... it was alright...
Finished the trek down the mountain!
At the bottom of the mountain we got back to the car and stopped by a restaurant for some fish and chips. After that, Ruth, Nadia, and I walked along in the rain and again....another random Swiss experience.... bumped into a Nun managing the convent animal barn!!!

It was sooooo funny, this cow LOVEs sucking on the nun's finger...hilarious!!!
Along the other side of the barn, there was a random milk house!!!!!!!

SOOOO cool!!!
And yummmmm...fresh creamy Swiss deliciousness!!!!

Yes...that was all in one day!!!!! Thank you so much Ruth... it was incredible!!!!!!!!!!
